The Athletic's Connor Hughes writes, "Frank Gore is the most productive back at Jets training camp ... I know Le’Veon Bell is the all-pro, highest-paid, big-play guy with the all-world reputation, but the Jets are getting far more production out of Gore." Hughes notes that Bell continues to dance behind the line of scrimmage -- a style that worked in Pittsburgh but doesn't mesh well with a shaky Jets offensive line. "Bell is a better player than Gore. But Gore looks like a better player for the Jets right now," Hughes concludes. Bell remains a virtual lock to out-touch and out-score Gore -- but it's looking more and more like Gore will steal an annoying amount of touches this season. We just moved Bell down the RB rankings.
Jets RB Frank Gore will miss the regular-season finale against the Patriots because of a lung contusion he suffered in Sunday's win over the Browns, according to Eric Allen of Jets 360. His absence leaves the backfield to rookie La'Mical Perine and Ty Johnson. Neither will be an exciting option, but it's an upside matchup against a New England D that has struggled vs. the run all year.
Jets RB Frank Gore left in the 4th quarter of Sunday's win over the Browns with a chest injury. We'll see about the severity this week. Rookie La'Mical Perine handled the team's final 4 RB carries after Gore left. Perine drew just 2 first-half carries in his return from a high-ankle sprain, vs. Ty Johnson's 2 and Gore's 6. Johnson and Perine would likely split work if Gore can't go in Week 17. Even if Gore returns, the Jets might elect to take a better look at the rookie in the regular-season finale.
Jets RB Frank Gore (concussion) is active for today’s game against the Seahawks. He should resume lead-back duties but is just a volume-based RB3 or flex play.
There's "optimism" Jets RB Frank Gore (concussion) will play against the Seahawks today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "Though it depends on him clearing a final hurdle this morning," Rapoport adds. Jets-Seahawks doesn't kick off until 4:05 pm ET, so we might not get Gore's official status until 3 pm ET. Ty Johnson will operate as New York's lead back if Gore isn't cleared.
Jets RB Frank Gore (concussion) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game against the Seahawks. He was a full-go in Friday’s practice, though, and HC Adam Gase confirmed that Gore is on track to be cleared by Sunday.Assuming that happens, he’ll resume lead-back duties for the Jets — and RB3 status in fantasy.
