WR Marvin Jones has agreed to a 2-year, $14.5 million deal with the Jaguars, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. (That includes $9.2 million guaranteed.) Jones reunites with OC Darrell Bevell, who ran the Detroit offense the past 2 years and now serves as Jacksonville's OC. Jones also joins a receiving corps led by D.J. Chark and 2nd-year WR Laviska Shenault. Those 3 figure to lead the depth chart, leaving little room for Keelan Cole, Chris Conley or Collin Johnson to find relevance. Jones played all 16 games last year for the 1st time in 3 seasons, catching a career-high 76 balls for 978 yards and 9 TDs. His arrival complicates the target outlook for Chark and Shenault.
James Johnson of Jaguars Wire says that WR Marvin Jones "was the favorite target of rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence in training camp." It's certainly worth noting here that WR D.J. Chark missed most of August after surgery for a hand fracture. That could only help Jones' prominence, obviously. But it's also worth noting that Jones remains 2+ rounds behind both Chark and Laviska Shenault in fantasy football draft ADP. We're not assuming Jones will stand out as the lead target here, but the lack of clarity to the situation adds appeal to snagging the latest option in drafts. Jones has long given us wide swings in week-to-week production. But he also remained fantasy-viable into his age-30 season last year. Jones finished the past 2 seasons 18th and 28th (in 13 games) among PPR wideouts.
Jaguars WR Marvin Jones is dealing with an AC joint injury in 1 of his shoulders, HC Urban Meyer said. Jones is questionable for the final preseason game vs. Dallas but "should be fine" for Week 1, per Meyer. We'll keep an eye on the situation but aren't adjusting Jones' projections.
Lions WR Marvin Jones (knee) isn’t listed on the final injury report. He was sidelined on Wednesday, limited on Thursday and a full-go on Friday. So the knee isn’t a real concern heading into this weekend’s game against the Falcons. But Jones has done nothing so far this season to earn a spot in your fantasy lineup.
Lions WR Marvin Jones (knee) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. That gives him a shot to play against the Falcons this weekend. We'll get another update on Jones tomorrow.
Lions WR Marvin Jones (knee) didn't practice on Wednesday. We haven't heard anything about this knee issue. Jones has been brutal this season, averaging just 29 yards per game. Even if he plays in Sunday's plus matchup vs. Atlanta, he can't be trusted in fantasy lineups.
