Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa feels more comfortable -- both with the offense and his surgically repaired hip -- heading into his 2nd season. "Last year, for me, I wasn't as comfortable just in general. I wasn't comfortable calling plays," Tagovailoa said. "I just didn't have the comfortability of checking plays, alerting plays. I just rode with the play, even if I knew it wasn't going to work. I was going to try to make it work. I didn't actually know the playbook, necessarily, really, really good, and that's no one else's fault but my fault. Our playcalls were simple when I was in. I didn't have alerts and checks. Where now, I feel comfortable and I can maneuver my way through these things." The Dolphins have designed an offense this offseason that better suits Tua's skill set, according to ESPN's Cameron Wolfe. Tagovailoa also said that his surgically repaired hip feels "10 times" better than last year. With WRs Will Fuller and Jaylen Waddle bringing much-needed speed to the offense, the pieces are in place for Tua to take a big step forward in 2021.
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (ribs) is active for today’s game vs. the Jaguars. It’s Tua’s 1st action since getting knocked out early in Week 2. Jacksonville ranks 24th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to QBs, but Tagovailoa is missing WRs Will Fuller, DeVante Parker and Preston Williams.
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (ribs) has been activated from IR and remains on track to start Sunday morning's game vs. the Jaguars in London, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. That's a plus matchup -- but Tagovailoa will be without WRs Will Fuller (finger) and DeVante Parker (hamstring, shoulder).
Dolphins HC Brian Flores confirmed that QB Tua Tagovailoa (ribs) is on track to start Sunday's game vs. the Jaguars, barring a setback between now and then. We wouldn't trust Tagovailoa in starting lineups outside of 2-QB leagues, but he should be an upgrade over QB Jacoby Brissett for Miami's offense.
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (ribs) will practice on Wednesday, HC Brian Flores said. “We’re excited to have him back," Flores added. Tagovailoa seems to be trending toward returning for Sunday's game vs. Jacksonville, but we'll keep you updated on his status.
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (ribs) has been activated from IR. It makes him eligible to return for Sunday's game against the Jaguars but doesn't necessarily mean that he will. We'll track Tagovailoa's progress over the next few days.
