Raiders rule out Mullen

The Raiders have ruled CB Trayvon Mullen (toe) out for Sunday's game against the Bears.

The Raiders are trading CB Trayvon Mullen to the Cardinals, getting back merely a conditional 7th-round pick. Mullen was the 40th overall pick in 2019 and started 31 of 37 healthy games over 3 seasons with the Raiders. The trade compensation, however, indicates pretty low standing for a 25-year-old in the final year of his rookie contract. Arizona is weak enough at CB, however -- with Marco Wilson, Antonio Hamilton and Byron Murphy topping the depth chart -- that Mullen could push for playing time soon. The Raiders, meanwhile, have Anthony Averett, Rock Ya-Sin and Nate Hobbs looking like their top 3.

The Raiders on Thursday designated CB Trayvon Mullen to return from IR. He has been there since suffering a foot injury in Week 4. The team had hoped to get Mullen back for this week's game against Washington, but we'll see if Mullen is ready to rejoin the active roster or will need a little more time. Vegas would need to activate him by Saturday for the starting corner to be eligible for Sunday's game. If Mullen returns to the lineup, Brandon Facyson would likely fall back to a reserve role.
