The Bengals are planning on splitting RB Gio Bernard into the slot or out wide in some sets.  "He's so natural catching the ball. He can catch it like a receiver," RBs coach Hue Jackson said of the rookie. "I knew he could catch it really well, but I wouldn't be surprised if he could go out there and line up outside and catch balls like some other guys can because he has that skill set."  Bernard was a pass-catching fiend at North Carolina, racking up 92 receptions for 852 yards and 6 TDs in 2 seasons.  He'll see plenty of action on the ground as a change-of-pace behind BenJarvus Green-Ellis, but Bernard's biggest impact this year figures to come in the passing game.  He's capable of 40+ catches, making him a prime target in PPR fantasy leagues.

RB Giovani Bernard is re-signing with the Buccaneers on a 1-year deal for the "veteran salary benefit," according to ESPN's Jenna Laine. That means just less than $1.3 million for the 10th-year veteran. Bernard carried just 8 times while adding 29 targets over 12 regular-season games last year, losing 4 to hip and knee injuries late in the season. He's expected to work behind Leonard Fournette and Ke'Shawn Vaughn on the depth chart.
