Patriots LB Jamie Collins missed practice Wednesday because of the illness that cost him Sunday's game against Washington. Given that he plays for New England, we probably won't get any further details beyond Collins' practice participation the next 2 days. We'll see if he's back for Sunday's matchup with the Giants. Meanwhile, DE Jabaal Sheard did return for a limited practice after missing the past 3 games with an ankle sprain.
The Browns announced Wednesday that they've released LB Jamie Collins. The move provides $9.25 million in cap space ahead of free agency. Collins arrived via trade midway through the 2016 season and then signed a 4-year extension the following January. He made it through just 2 years of that contract. Collins rebounded from losing 10 games to injury in 2017 and played every contest last season. He finished in high-LB3 territory for fantasy purposes. Collins should garner at least 1 more starting opportunity. He'll turn 30 in mid-October.
Browns LB Jamie Collins missed Wednesday's practice with a sprained ankle but is expected to return Thursday, according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. We'll keep an eye on Collins' status heading into the weekend.
The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Browns OLB Jamie Collins will miss the rest of the season after tearing his right MCL in Sunday's loss to the Lions. That positions James Burgess to assume Collins' starting role, but he doesn't bring anywhere near the scoring upside.
Browns OLB Jamie Collins left Sunday's game against the Lions in the 1st quarter with a knee injury and is questionable to return.
