Jeremy Langford operated as the Bears' feature back with the 1st-team offense in Thursday night's preseason game against the Patriots. He received all 9 RB touches with the starters, operating as the lead runner, pass-catcher and red-zone back. In fact, we didn't see any other RB get on the field with the 1st unit. Langford turned his 8 carries into 55 yards and a score and added an 8-yard reception. Langford looked good in this one, but the do-it-all role is the biggest takeaway. If he maintains that workload, Langford will be a RB2 with RB1 upside.
The Bears on Sunday waived RB Jeremy Langford (along with TE Ben Braunecker). It's not a surprising move given Langford's huge fall from the starting role last season. He initially made the 53-man roster, but the team dumped him to make room for Baltimore castoff RB Taquan Mizzell. Langford's not worth clinging to even in most dynasty fantasy football leagues at this point. We'll see if he lands on another active roster.
Bears RB Jeremy Langford (ankle) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Vikings. Out since Week 3, Langford returns to a running back by committee. The Bears have announced that Jordan Howard will start.
Bears RB Jeremy Langford (ankle) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Monday night's game against the Bears. He shouldn't be in Week 8 fantasy lineups, but his return would further dent RB Jordan Howard's outlook.
Bears RB Jeremy Langford (ankle) returned to practice on Tuesday, according to insider Brad Biggs. He's missed the past 4 weeks but appears to have a chance to return for Monday night's game against the Vikings. That'd turn what's recently been a 2-man committee into a 3-man backfield. Langford, Jordan Howard and Ka'Deem Carey are all better off on fantasy benches vs. Minnesota's 7th-ranked RB defense.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Bears expect RB Jeremy Langford to miss 4-6 weeks with the ankle sprain that knocked him out of Sunday night's loss to the Cowboys. That clears the way for Jordan Howard to likely take the backfield lead, starting with a solid home matchup against the Lions in Week 4. Howard should be owned in all fantasy football leagues. Given Langford's lacking performance so far, we wouldn't be surprised if Howard keeps the top job even after Langford returns. Ka'Deem Carey remains in the picture as well but is a limited player that John Fox's staff inherited from Lovie Smith & Co.
