The Jaguars added LSU WR D.J. Chark with the 61st overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft. Chark’s stock got a big boost when he ran a 4.34-second 40-yard dash at the Combine. He also posted 90th+ percentile marks in the broad and vertical jumps, earning a SPARQ score in the 96th percentile. Chark didn’t post huge numbers at LSU. He went without a single catch in his first 2 seasons before a 26-466-3 line in 2016. This past year brought a quasi-breakout, with Chark hauling in 40 balls for 874 yards and 3 scores. His 21.9 yards per catch led the entire country among players with 40+ receptions. It’s certainly worth noting that Chark played on a bad LSU passing game. He accounted for 22.3% of the catches, 33.0% of the yards and 17.6% of the TDs last year. And his 2.92 yards per route run ranked 12th among draft-eligible receivers, per Pro Football Focus. Chark at least looks like a guy who can bring big-play ability to Jacksonville. But he’ll need to refine the other parts of his game — notably his route running and hands — if he wants to turn into more than a boom-or-bust fantasy option. Chark joins a crowded Jaguars WR group that also includes Marqise Lee, Dede Westbrook, Donte Moncrief and Keelan Cole.
Jaguars WR D.J. Chark (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Raiders. Dede Westbrook, Chris Conley and Keelan Cole will operate as Jacksonville's top 3 WRs and should soak up the majority of the 8.2 targets per game Chark leaves behind.
Jaguars WR D.J. Chark (ankle) didn't practice on Wednesday. But HC Doug Marrone said he'll travel with the team to Oakland and refused to rule him out for Sunday's game against the Raiders. "I think we are going to take that all the way up. We are going to take him out there with us to see how he goes," Marrone said. "And I think as long as it doesn't put anyone in jeopardy, you know, of reinjuring, or it could be worse or anything of that nature, then I think you will see a lot of -- you know, he will be on the field." We'll see if Chark is able to practice on Thursday and/or Friday.
Jaguars HC Doug Marrone labeled WR D.J. Chark "week-to-week" with his ankle injury. He won't play against the Raiders this Sunday -- and don't bank on Chark for the final 2 games of the season. His absence this weekend will leave Dede Westbrook, Chris Conley and Keelan Cole as Jacksonville's top 3 WRs in a plus matchup.
Jaguars WR D.J. Chark injured his left ankle late in Sunday's loss to the Chargers. He was in a walking boot and getting around on a scooter afterward, according to ESPN's Michael DiRocco. We should learn more about Chark's injury tomorrow, but it looks like he's in serious danger of missing at least Week 15.
Jaguars WR D.J. Chark sustained a concussion in Thursday night's preseason game against the Dolphins. He'll have 17 days to get cleared before the opener. Chark was in line to open the season as 1 of Jacksonville's top 3 WRs. We'll see if this injury changes that.
