Cardinals HC Steve Wilks said Wednesday that WR Christian Kirk has "somewhat" played himself into the mix for the #2 WR job. That's not exactly a ringing endorsement. Kirk has caught 6 balls for 58 yards and a score through 2 preseason games, but he hasn't played many snaps with the 1st-team offense. The rookie has run most of his routes from the slot with the 2nd-team. Larry Fitzgerald is obviously locked in as Arizona's primary slot guy this year, so Kirk will need to start getting work on the outside if he's going to make a 2018 impact. He's not worth a pick in redraft leagues right now. Chad Williams and Brice Butler look like better bets to open the season as the Cardinals' #2 WR.
Jags WR Christian Kirk snagged 7 balls for 52 yards and 1 score in the Divisional Round loss to Kansas City. He tied a season-high (and matched last week’s number) with 14 targets. He nearly cracked 100 yards in this one, but a well-thrown deep ball from Trevor Lawrence bounced off Kirk’s hands. The former Cardinal exited the regular season with 84-1,108-8 on 133 targets, enough to make him WR11 in PPR. He’ll enter year 2 in Jacksonville alongside newly acquired WR Calvin Ridley. We’ll see where their ADPs shake out in early drafting.
Jaguars WR Christian Kirk led the team in targets (8), receptions (6) and receiving yards (104) in Sunday's blowout loss at Detroit. TE Evan Engram tied WR Zay Jones for 2nd on the team with 7 targets, catching 5 for 30 yards. That included a 3-yard TD, the team's only TD of the game. It was Kirk's 2nd game of 100+ yards among the past 3. Engram's 5 receptions matched his combined total for the previous 3 contests. Jacksonville now heads to Tennessee in Week 14 to face a defense that's much tougher against the run than the pass.
Jags WR Christian Kirk tallied 9 catches, 105 yards and 2 TDs in Sunday’s loss to Kansas City. His 12 targets — a 30% team share — tied a season-high. He scored on a pair of end zone targets, including one on a slick over-the-shoulder grab. The former Cardinal now has 76+ yards in 3 of his past 4 outings; 4 TDs over his past 5. A Week 11 bye awaits before a home matchup with Baltimore.
Jaguars WR Christian Kirk led the team in targets (9), receptions (8) and receiving yards (76) in Sunday's win over the Raiders. He also snagged the team's lone TD pass. It marked the 1st time since Week 4 that he led the team in targets by himself. WR Marvin Jones followed with 6 targets. He and Zay Jones tied with 5 receptions apiece, though each fell short of 50 yards. TE Evan Engram tallied just 1 catch for 8 yards among 2 targets. Jacksonville visits the Chiefs in Week 10.
Jaguars WRs Christian Kirk and Zay Jones tied for the team target lead with 10 apiece in Sunday's loss to the Giants. Kirk grabbed a team-high 7 catches for a team-high 96 yards. Jones caught 4 balls, tying TE Evan Engram and WR Marvin Jones Jr. for 2nd. No other Jaguar caught more than 1 pass in the game.
