Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) is listed as questionable for Thursday night's game against the Chiefs. He put in limited practices on Tuesday and Wednesday and did travel with the team to Kansas City. It looks like Gordon will be a game-time decision. We'll find out his official status around 7 pm ET tomorrow. RB Austin Ekeler (neck, concussion) is out. So if Gordon can't play, rookie Justin Jackson will serve as the Chargers' lead back.

Recent Shark Bites

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Chargers RB Melvin Gordon's holdout "is now expected to be prolonged" and "threatens" to run into the regular season. The 2 sides exchanged offers this week, but "talks are not in a good spot," per Schefter. It always seemed like Gordon's holdout would last a while. We'd still bet on him reporting before Week 1, but there's certainly a chance he misses games. And even if he shows up before the start of the season, the missed time in August would make him an increased injury risk early in the season. We just dropped Gordon down the RB rankings again.

Chargers RB Melvin Gordon will not report for the start of training camp today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "This should be lengthy, as talks are expected to halt and LAC will focus on the backs who are there," Rapoport tweets. Insider Tom Pelissero adds that the Chargers want to get Gordon a new deal -- but the 2 sides are obviously far apart when it comes to how much the back is worth. Gordon, who's under contract for about $5.6 million this season, will be fined for every day of camp he misses. We'll see how long this holdouts lasts. Gordon's ADP is sitting at 13th overall in Draft.com best balls over the last week.

Chargers RB Melvin Gordon has informed the team that he won't report to training camp and will demand a trade if he doesn't receive a new contract, his agent told ESPN. Gordon is set to make $5.6 million this season in the final year of his rookie deal. The Chargers currently have a little less than $11 million in available salary cap space, according to OverTheCap.com, so they could make a new deal with Gordon work. We'll see how much they're willing to give up to get him back in the building. If Gordon holds out into the regular season or is traded, the Chargers would be left with RBs Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson.

Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) isn't listed on the final injury report after putting in a full practice on Friday. He was never missing this weekend's game against the Patriots but won't be anywhere close to 100%. Gordon has sprained both knees and twisted an ankle over the past month and a half. He's a risky DFS play this week. We prefer the cheaper Austin Ekeler.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport describes the injury Chargers RB Melvin Gordon suffered in Sunday's win over the Ravens as "a little knee sprain." Rapoport adds that it's similar to the right knee injury he suffered in Week 12. That cost him 3 games -- but Gordon returned to Sunday's contest in Baltimore and is expected to play against the Patriots this weekend. "Just may not exactly look like his old self," Rapoport cautions. Gordon averaged just 2.4 yards per carry vs. the Ravens and was out-snapped 39 to 32 by Austin Ekeler. Don't be surprised if Ekeler plays an expanded role again this weekend.
