Ioannidis active vs. Jaguars

Washington DL Matt Ioannidis (shin) is active for today's game against the Jaguars. He arrived questionable for the 2nd straight game but participated in practice this week after sitting out last week's workouts and then seeing just 3 snaps in Sunday's game. He remains risky but also carries IDP upside into today's matchup.

Washington is releasing DT Matt Ioannidis, according to multiple reports. Ioannidis played 59% of defensive snaps over his 16 games last year and 73% 2 seasons before. (Ioannidis appeared in only 3 games in 2020 because of a torn pectoral muscle.) At age 28, he looks like a good bet to find opportunity elsewhere. He'll be nearly 3 years removed from IDP relevance when the season begins, though.

His absence could mean more weekly snaps for DTs Jonathan Allen and Da'Ron Payne. Each saw a season-high snap share at Cleveland: 79% for Allen and 81% for Payne.

Ioannidis missed practice all week, though, and has fallen off since the shin injury arose. He shouldn't be in your Week 17 IDP plans.
