Colts TE Eric Ebron needs surgery on both of his ankles and will be placed on IR, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Ebron is averaging 4.7 targets and 2.8 catches per game. A big chunk of that work now figures to go to TE Jack Doyle, who has a shot at top-12 production the rest of the way. TE Mo Alie-Cox should also see a bump in playing time. He's worth monitoring and perhaps adding now in deep fantasy leagues.

Colts TE Eric Ebron (ankle) isn’t listed on the final Week 9 injury report. He was added to the injury report on Thursday but put in a full practice on Friday. Ebron could be in for an expanded role in the passing game against the Steelers this weekend with T.Y. Hilton out.
Colts TEs Eric Ebron and Jack Doyle were on the field for the 1st day of training camp on Thursday. Both guys are coming off surgery -- groin for Ebron and hip for Doyle -- but are clearly on track for Week 1. We'll be watching this situation closely for clues on how snaps and targets will be divvied among Colts TEs. Doyle actually out-targeted Ebron 33 to 22 in their 6 games together last year.
