Dolphins dumping Jones | Shark Bites | Draft Sharks

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Dolphins will be releasing S Reshad Jones when the 2020 league year begins on March 18. The move will reportedly free up $5.3 million in salary-cap space. It also comes as no surprise, if you paid any attention to Jones' up-and-down usage in 2019. Jones remains a solid player heading into his age-32 season and should be able to catch on elsewhere (assuming he wants to continue playing).

Recent Shark Bites

The Dolphins have placed S Reshad Jones on IR. Jones returned from a 4-game absence for a cracked rib to play 67% of the snaps in Sunday's loss to the Bills. We haven't seen anything yet about a new injury for Jones, so perhaps the rib remained an issue and the team decided it would rather clear room for younger players the rest of the way. Miami also placed DB Bobby McCain (shoulder) on IR.

Dolphins S Reshad Jones is questionable for Sunday's game against the Bills. He seems likely to play, though, after putting in full practices the past 2 days. Jones also finally revealed that it was a cracked rib keeping him out of the past 4 games. LB Raekwon McMillan (knee) and DE Taco Charlton (elbow) are also questionable. They put in limited practices all week. We'll check the status on all 3 Sunday morning.

The Dolphins have ruled S Reshad Jones (chest) out for Sunday's game against the Colts. It'll be the 4th straight missed game for Jones.

Dolphins S Reshad Jones (chest) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Jets. Jones missed the past 2 games with the injury. He did return to limited practices on Thursday and Friday and seems to be trending toward a Week 10 return.

The Dolphins have ruled S Reshad Jones (chest) out for the 2nd straight game. He has yet to return to practice since leaving the Week 6 contest early.
