Jaguars QB Mike Glennon will start against the Browns this weekend, HC Doug Marrone announced on Wednesday. QB Gardner Minshew evidently isn't ready to return from his thumb injury, and the Jags have seen enough of QB Jake Luton. Glennon at least has 801 NFL pass attempts under his belt, completing 61% and averaging 6.4 yards per attempt. He's not a Week 12 fantasy option but should be an upgrade over Luton.
Jaguars QB Mike Glennon will start Sunday's game against the Bears. Now in control of the #1 pick of this spring's draft, Jacksonville just might be trying to lose out. Glennon isn't a fantasy option and is a downgrade for the rest of the offense.
The Jaguars benched QB Mike Glennon in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game against the Titans. He went 13 of 23 for 85 yards, 0 TDs and 1 INT. QB Gardner Minshew has entered for Jacksonville.
The Jaguars will start QB Mike Glennon this Sunday at Minnesota, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. That just confirms the expected after Glennon performed solidly in his Jacksonville debut vs. Cleveland. Glennon completed 57.1% of his passes for 235 yards and 2 TDs, despite missing WRs D.J. Chark and Chris Conley. Glennon gets another positive passing matchup vs. a weak set of Minnesota CBs, in a game that finds his team currently a 9.5-point underdog. We still wouldn't look to use Glennon in 1-QB redraft leagues. One game of positive production vs. a depleted Cleveland defense -- missing DE Myles Garrett, CB Denzel Ward and S Ronnie Harrison (after the 1st play) -- isn't enough to inspire confidence as we get near (or into) fantasy playoffs.
On the same day they reached a deal with QB Sam Bradford, the Cardinals also reportedly agreed on a contract with QB Mike Glennon. The very short-term starter in Chicago will be released once the 2018 league year begins Wednesday afternoon and then move to the desert to back up Bradford. The latter, of course, isn't a good bet to make it through the season healthy. Arizona also remains a strong candidate to draft a QB early this spring.
Bears QB Mike Glennon rebounded statistically in Saturday's 2nd preseason game, including a TD pass to WR Kendall Wright late in the 2nd quarter. But that followed a drive-killing, 1st-quarter INT in the red zone and another pass that should have been picked. Glennon finished 13-of-18 for 80 yards -- better than his 2-of-9 1st outing. Rookie QB Mitchell Trubisky, meanwhile, again followed #2 QB Mark Sanchez into the game. Trubisky completed 6 of 8 passes for 60 yards and a TD to Benny Cunningham. Trubisky also avoided an INT on a ball that should have been picked. We'll see if anything changes with the QB order in the "dress rehearsal" 3rd preseason game, but Chicago looks like it'll head into the year with a shaky Glennon under center.
