ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Chargers are "concerned" WR Keenan Allen (hamstring) won't be able to play vs. the Raiders tonight. Schefter adds that Allen is "likely to be limited" if he does suit up. We'll get the Chargers' inactives around 7 pm ET tonight. Allen will obviously come with a lower ceiling and floor if he ends up playing. WRs Tyron Johnson and Jalen Guyton figure to get more playing time with Allen banged up and Mike Williams not expected to play. TE Hunter Henry and RB Austin Ekeler should also get target boosts. Downgrade QB Justin Herbert with these WR injuries.
Chargers WR Keenan Allen finished Saturday's Wild Card game with 6-61 on 13 targets. The massive workload represented a 30.2% target share. It also meant that Allen, 30, finished his 10th pro season with 9 straight games of 5+ catches. He’s currently under contract for 2 more seasons.
Chargers WR Keenan Allen dominated the receiving work in Monday night's win over the Colts. He racked up 11 catches for 104 yards on 14 targets, 45.2% of the team's total pass attempts. WR Mike Williams and RB Austin Ekeler tied for 2nd with 4 targets apiece on a limited passing night. Williams caught all 4 for 76 yards. The Chargers get a home date with the Rams in Week 17, a matchup that has been near-neutral for WR scoring on the year.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that both Chargers WRs Keenan Allen (hamstring) and Mike Williams (ankle) are expected to play tonight against the Chiefs. Both are officially questionable, which adds some risk to waiting for the Sunday night kickoff. But each also finished the week with a full practice.
Chargers WR Keenan Allen (hamstring) remained sidelined on Thursday. He's a big long shot to play vs. the 49ers this weekend, again leaving Josh Palmer and DeAndre Carter as Los Angeles' top 2 WRs.
Chargers WR Keenan Allen (hamstring) remained sidelined for Wednesday's practice. HC Brandon Staley called him "day to day," but don't count on Allen returning for Sunday night's game vs. the 49ers.
