Cardinals WR Antoine Wesley "will miss a little time," according to Jess Root of Cards Wire. Wesley suffered an injury to the hip/groin area that required an MRI. We have yet to see further specifics on the issue. The team is reportedly "looking at about a week before they will know the time frame."
Darren Urban of the team website says that Arizona Cardinals WR Antoine Wesley "is gonna be a crucial part of the WR corps while [DeAndre Hopkins] is absent." Hopkins, of course, is suspended for the 1st 6 games after violating the league PED policy. Wesley assumed a starting role in the 2nd half of last season, after Hopkins got hurt. Wesley topped 50% playing time in 8 of his final 10 appearances for the season, including 6 games of 75% or more. He also reached 4 catches just twice, though -- never exceeding that number -- and averaged just 26 receiving yards across that 8-game span. The team acquired Marquise Brown and re-signed A.J. Green since, so Wesley will need to beat 1 of them or Rondale Moore to slide into the team's top 3 at WR early in the year. We'll be watching, but don't bet heavily on fantasy impact from Wesley.
