Falcons QB Michael Penix is throwing at the team's OTA sessions this week. He's working back from November 25 surgery to repair what was reported as a partial tear of his left ACL.

The Dolphins have agreed to a four-year extension with RB De’Von Achane, according to multiple reports. The deal will pay $64 million, with a max value of $68 million, and includes $32 million in guarantees. Even the lower annual average beats what Breece Hall got on his three-year extension with the Jets ($16 million vs. $15.25 million), and both beat Kenneth Walker III’s free-agent pact with the Chiefs ($14.35 million per year). Only Saquon Barkley and Christian McCaffrey carry larger annual averages among RBs on their current contracts.

Giants WR Malik Nabers underwent a second surgery on the knee he injured last September, The Athletic's Dan Duggan reports. The procedure took place "multiple weeks ago" and removed scar tissue that was causing stiffness, per Duggan. "This second surgery isn't expected to impact Nabers' recovery timeline. The team is still hoping the No. 1 WR will be ready for the opener," Duggan adds.

Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving isn’t cleared for football action yet after postseason shoulder surgery, according to Pewter Report.

Giants third-round WR Malachi Fields stood out at rookie minicamp, with ESPN’s Jordan Raanan highlighting his work over the middle and HC John Harbaugh praising his slants and a contested catch over a defender.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid said he had to alter WR Xavier Worthy's role last year after his Week 1 shoulder injury. Worthy went down with a dislocated shoulder on his third snap of the season. He missed the next two games and then averaged just 3.2 catches and 40.9 yards over the final 13 contests.

The Chargers have agreed to a one-year deal with TE David Njoku, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The contract will be worth "up to" $8 million. That max value would tie him for 19th among TEs in average annual salary for 2026, $100,000 behind new teammate Charlie Kolar. This addition points to a three-man committee.

Broncos HC Sean Payton said Saturday that he expects QB Bo Nix (ankle) to be cleared “full speed by training camp.” Nix should also participate in June minicamp.

The Browns on Friday announced that LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah has landed on the reserve/physically unable to perform list. That means he's out for the entire 2026 season. JOK is still trying to work back from a neck injury he suffered in Week 8 of 2024. He also spent 2025 on the reserve/PUP list.

The Vikings agreed Thursday to a one-year contract with former 49ers WR Jauan Jennings. The deal will pay Jennings $8 million, with potential for the earnings to climb as high as $13 million. Jennings spent his first six NFL seasons in San Francisco and will turn 29 in July.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport wrote Thursday that QB Aaron Rodgers “will likely” return to the Steelers next season. Rodgers is set to meet with the team Friday, and a new deal could follow shortly after.

Packers RB MarShawn Lloyd has appeared in just one regular-season game since Green Bay took him in Round 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft. Jaguars GM James Gladstone said he expects Travis Hunter to play both offense and defense again this season, and that the team is “absolutely not” done using him as a two-way player. He added that Hunter’s CB percentage and defensive snap count should rise. Hunter played 324 snaps at WR and 162 at CB last season, which matches the earlier reports pointing to a bigger defensive role. Gladstone did not call Hunter a “full-time” CB, but it sounds like those snap counts could be much closer to even in 2026.

49ers TE George Kittle could open the season on the PUP list as he works back from an Achilles injury, according to NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco.

Saints RB Alvin Kamara has been bandied as a trade or cut candidate all offseason, especially since the arrival of RB Travis Etienne. But, appearing on Terron Armstead's The Set on Monday, Kamara sounded set on returning for another season in New Orleans.

You might remember that then-Patriots WR Stefon Diggs got arrested late last season on felony charges of strangulation and assault related to an early December incident. Diggs' trial started Monday, and that case likely plays a large role in both why Diggs currently has no team and when/whether that might change.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid said Saturday that QB Patrick Mahomes (knee) is on track to participate in the team's first OTA sessions from May 26-28. That'll be about 5.5 months after Mahomes had surgery to repair the ACL and LCL in his left knee. Mahomes has been throwing since at least late March, when he posted a video of himself working out on social media.

Raiders QB Fernando Mendoza said he has a “long way to go” in his adjustment to playing under center. He took only 3% of his snaps under center at Indiana last season, per ESPN.

Giants WR Darius Slayton recently underwent surgery to address a core-muscle injury, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports. Slayton will miss spring workouts but is expected to be ready for the start of training camp, Garafolo adds.
