The Falcons have released WR Roddy White. The 27th pick of the 2005 NFL draft has spent all 11 seasons of his career in Atlanta, recording 6 seasons of 1,100+ yards. He's been in clear decline lately, though, and mustered just 43 catches, 506 yards and 1 TD this past season -- all at least 8-year lows. Now 34, White shouldn't be anything more than a #3 or #4 WR. And he's a long shot to be a fantasy asset in 2016. With Justin Hardy and not much else behind Julio Jones on the WR depth chart, Atlanta figures to add to the position in free agency and/or the draft.
Falcons WR Roddy White (elbow) is listed as probable for Monday night's opener against the Eagles. He put in a full week of practice, which is encouraging for his Week 1 role. There's some risk here with a 33-year-old who missed most of the offseason, but the plus matchup gets White on the WR3 radar.
Falcons WR Roddy White (elbow) put in a full practice on Thursday. He's on track to play against the Eagles on Monday night, and it doesn't look like the elbow will be an issue. It remains to be seen if White is ready to play a full complement of snaps after missing much of the offseason with knee trouble, though. It makes him a risk/reward WR3 for Week 1.
Falcons WR Roddy White returned to practice on Tuesday for the 1st time since undergoing elbow surgery on August 23. It puts the 33-year-old on track to play in Monday night's opener against the Eagles, although you have to wonder if he'll play a full complement of snaps after missing the majority of the offseason with knee and then elbow trouble. The matchup is right, though, so consider White a risk/reward WR3 for Week 1.
Falcons WR Roddy White (elbow) will return to "some activity" next week, according to insider Vaughn McClure. Next week starts preparation for Atlanta's season-opener against the Eagles. The fact that White won't be a full-go means he's in danger of missing that game. White will be tough to trust in fantasy lineups even if he plays. If he's out, WR Leonard Hankerson would start in his price and be an intriguing value play in DFS.
Falcons WR Roddy White will undergo minor surgery on his right elbow on Monday. HC Dan Quinn said that it’s more of a “scope,” adding that the veteran will be ready for Week 1. Still, it’s a concerning development. White turns 34 in November and has missed 5 games over the past 2 seasons. Entering September, he’s a shaky WR3.
