The Vikings are trading a pair of draft picks to the Jaguars for DE Yannick Ngakoue, according to multiple reports. Jacksonville gets a 2021 second-rounder and a conditional 5th-round pick in 2022. According to Adam Schefter, that pick becomes a 4th if Ngakoue makes the Pro Bowl this season; a 3rd if Ngakoue makes the Pro Bowl and the Vikings win the Super Bowl. Ngakoue has delivered 8+ sacks and 14+ QB hits in each of his 4 seasons. He should quickly take over the right DE job from Ifeadi Odenigbo, who has been replacing the departed Everson Griffen. The Jaguars, meanwhile, now have more edge snaps available for 1st-round pick K'Lavon Chaisson. He has reportedly impressed HC Doug Marrone since returning from an early-camp hamstring injury.
Ravens DE/OLB Yannick Ngakoue suffered a thigh injury in Sunday's win over the Giants. We'll see about his status heading into the regular-season finale at Cincinnati.
According to multiple reports, the Vikings are trading DE Yannick Ngakoue to the Ravens for a 3rd-round pick in 2021 and a conditional 5th-rounder in 2022. Minnesota, of course, just acquired Ngakoue from Jacksonville before the season for a 2nd-round 2021 pick plus the same conditional-level selection. The veteran pass-rusher has produced, delivering 5 sacks in 6 games. Ngakoue will play OLB in Baltimore's 3-4 alignment, but he should retain his DL eligibility in IDP leagues. He figures to take playing time from OLBs Jaylon Ferguson and Tyus Bowser, across from Matt Judon. Minnesota, meanwhile, now counts Ifeadi Odenigbo and Jalyn Holmes as its top 2 DEs -- unless Danielle Hunter is nearing a return from his neck injury. Both teams are on bye this week, so we'll see what else we learn about both situations before their Week 8 contests.
Jaguars DE Yannick Ngakoue ended his 11-day training camp holdout Sunday and reported to the team, despite not getting a new contract. ESPN reports that Ngakoue passed the conditioning test in the morning and assumed his usual starting spot in full-team drills. He also sits with the starters in the initial depth chart on the team website. HC Doug Marrone deemed Ngakoue "ready to go and in great shape." It looks like we can proceed as normal in IDP leagues, where Ngakoue supplies double-digit sack upside but a low tackle floor.
Jaguars DE Yannick Ngakoue (ankle) is active for today's upside matchup with the Broncos. Use the boom/bust prospect as you normally would in IDP leagues.
