Rookie TE Justin Joly was a surprise cut by the Denver Broncos, but he was claimed by the Miami Dolphins today. Joly, a receiving-first TE, enters a pretty thin TE room consisting of Greg Dulcich and rookie Will Kacmarek. That should open up an opportunity for Joly to make the roster and potentially contribute if Dulcich misses time.

The Cowboys claimed former Chiefs RB Emari Demercado off waivers. He will join the team after they released both second-year RBs Jaydon Blue and Phil Mafah. He joins an RB room with only Javonte Williams and Malik Davis. Demercado could stick as the No. 3 RB on the team.

Denver provided a surprise to close observers Sunday by waiving fifth-round rookie TE Justin Joly. That move left Evan Engram, Adam Trautman, Nate Adkins, and seventh-round rookie Dallen Bentley at the position on the initial regular-season roster.

You undoubtedly already heard that Packers RB Josh Jacobs landed on the commissioner's exempt list Sunday. That knocks him out of action indefinitely because the league has no explicit rules for how long a player can stay on there or the effect of specific infractions.
