The Giants have agreed to a 4-year contract with DE Jason Pierre-Paul, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports. That should lock in the 28-year-old with the team into his 30s -- and perhaps for the length of his career. Pierre-Paul was scoring like a top-5 fantasy D-lineman once again last year before hitting IR with a sports hernia in December. Adam Schefter reports that his new deal includes $54 million and averages $17 million annually. That would make it very similar to the contract DE Olivier Vernon signed with the Giants last offseason -- though with $1.5 million more guaranteed over 1 fewer season. The team obviously believes that JPP will continue to produce, and we see no reason to dislike him heading into 2017 fantasy football drafts.
The Ravens have signed EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul to a 1-year deal worth up to $5 million, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Baltimore has just 7 sacks through 3 games, despite facing a league-high 141 pass attempts. The only Raven with 2+ sacks so far is EDGE Justin Houston, who left Sunday's win over the Patriots with a groin injury. We'd bet on JPP quickly working into the rotation, though we'll need to see his playing time before considering him for IDP lineups.
Buccaneers EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Panthers with a shoulder injury.
Buccaneers EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder, hand) is active for today's game against Washington. He has been playing through questionable tags since returning from his shoulder injury. JPP saw his normal playing time last week and should be fine for IDP use -- especially in a high-upside matchup.
Buccaneers EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul is questionable for Sunday's game against Washington. He sat out practice all week with shoulder and hand injuries, despite coming off the bye. But JPP did the same thing for Week 8 and played through a questionable tag for his highest snap share since Week 1. We'll confirm Pierre-Paul's status Sunday, but expect him to play.
Buccaneers EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder, hand) is active for today's game against the Bears. He missed practice all week but has been seeing near-usual playing time since returning from missing 2 games with his shoulder injury.
