Trubisky a full-go Wednesday | Shark Bites | Draft Sharks

Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky (hip) put in a full practice on Wednesday. So he should be available for this weekend's game against the Giants -- and HC Matt Nagy said a healthy Trubisky is still the starter. Even in this plus matchup, though, Trubisky remains a low-end QB2.

Recent Shark Bites

Bears GM Ryan Pace has said there's an "open competition" for the team's starting QB job, according to multiple reports. That's not surprising, given the quality of Mitchell Trubisky's play so far and the team's trade for Nick Foles. It's nice to hear the official word, though. We should either get a slight upgrade in Foles or a better-performing Trubisky in the Chicago offense in 2020. Either would mark a welcome change, with some intriguing talent in the skill-position group.

Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky underwent surgery shortly after the end of the season to repair a partially torn labrum in his left (non-throwing) shoulder. This is likely related to the dislocated shoulder that cost him 1 game back in October. Trubisky is expected to be rehabbing for the next "couple of months," according to ESPN's Jeff Dickerson. So this shouldn't have a major impact on his offseason, but it's still less than ideal for a guy seemingly entering a make-or-break year in Chicago. GM Ryan Pace said earlier this offseason that the "plan" is for Trubisky to be the team's 2020 starter.

Bears GM Ryan Pace said Tuesday that the "plan" is for QB Mitchell Trubisky to be the team's 2020 starter. "Mitch is the starter and we believe in him and we believe in the progress he is going to continue to make," Pace said. Trubisky didn't make any progress this past season. In fact, his completion rate, yards per attempt and QB Rating all sunk from 2018 to 2019. He finished 32nd among QBs in fantasy points per game. Trubisky will be just a low-end QB2 in 2020 fantasy drafts.

Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky (hip) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report. Even in Sunday’s plus matchup at home for the Giants, Trubisky is just a QB2.

Bears HC Matt Nagy said Monday that QB Mitchell Trubisky has been diagnosed with a right hip pointer. The injury reportedly occurred late in the 2nd quarter of Sunday night's loss to the Rams. Trubisky played the 3rd quarter and most of the 4th before getting yanked for QB Chase Daniel. “Every decision that was made, it had zero to do with his play," Nagy said. "It was completely based off his injury and where he was at.” A healthy Trubisky will remain Chicago's starter, but you should continue to stay away from this situation in fantasy football.
