Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky (hip) put in a full practice on Wednesday. So he should be available for this weekend's game against the Giants -- and HC Matt Nagy said a healthy Trubisky is still the starter. Even in this plus matchup, though, Trubisky remains a low-end QB2.
The Bills inked QB Mitchell Trubisky to a 1-year deal. He goes from #2 overall pick to backup in the span of 4 years. Trubisky is obviously off the redraft radar, while his dynasty value continues to dwindle. He'll be 27 when he hits free agency again next offseason.
Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky was benched in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game in Atlanta. He went 13 of 22 for 128 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT, leading Chicago to just 10 points. QB Nick Foles is in for the Bears.
The Bears will start QB Mitchell Trubisky in Week 1 against the Lions, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Trubisky and QB Nick Foles seemed to play to a draw in training camp, so Chicago will give its former #2 overall pick one more shot. We're still expecting Foles to start games this season. And this is still a situation to avoid in fantasy drafts.
Bears GM Ryan Pace has said there's an "open competition" for the team's starting QB job, according to multiple reports. That's not surprising, given the quality of Mitchell Trubisky's play so far and the team's trade for Nick Foles. It's nice to hear the official word, though. We should either get a slight upgrade in Foles or a better-performing Trubisky in the Chicago offense in 2020. Either would mark a welcome change, with some intriguing talent in the skill-position group.
Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky underwent surgery shortly after the end of the season to repair a partially torn labrum in his left (non-throwing) shoulder. This is likely related to the dislocated shoulder that cost him 1 game back in October. Trubisky is expected to be rehabbing for the next "couple of months," according to ESPN's Jeff Dickerson. So this shouldn't have a major impact on his offseason, but it's still less than ideal for a guy seemingly entering a make-or-break year in Chicago. GM Ryan Pace said earlier this offseason that the "plan" is for Trubisky to be the team's 2020 starter.
