The Browns expect lead CB Denzel Ward to miss "a few weeks" with a calf strain he suffered in Sunday's win over the Eagles, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports. That leaves Cleveland without its top cover man and top pass rusher (DE Myles Garrette on COVID reserve) for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. The Browns defense still looks attractive, though, against a Jacksonville offense that hasn't topped 260 total yards since Week 9 and tossed 4 INTs to Pittsburgh in Week 11.
The Browns have ruled lead CB Denzel Ward (hamstring) out for Sunday's game against the Steelers. DE Jadeveon Clowney (ankle, groin, knee) is questionable. He played through a questionable tag last week but didn't practice at all this week despite the longer layoff following a Thursday night game. Clowney also replaced a chest issue for Week 7 with the groin this time around. Given the total lack of practice, it's probably better to not use him even if he's active.
Browns CB Denzel Ward left Sunday's loss to the Chargers with a neck injury. We'll see about his availability for next Sunday's home date with the Cardinals. Avoiding Ward would enhance the matchup for WR DeAndre Hopkins. Cleveland rookie LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah also suffered a throat contusion against the Chargers and went to a local hospital after the game. We'll see about his status, coming off a season-high 91% playing time.
The Browns announced Saturday that CB Denzel Ward won't come off the COVID list in time to face the Steelers on Sunday. Slot CB Kevin Johnson will also remain on the list. That leaves Cleveland down at least 2 of its top 3 corners against pass-heavy Pittsburgh. And we're waiting to see whether CB Terrance Mitchell will play. He's questionable with a non-injury issue.
Browns CB Denzel Ward landed on the COVID list this week, and Cleveland.com reports that he tested positive. That means Ward will not only miss Sunday's game against the Steelers but might also not be back in time for a playoff opener next weekend. We'll see about his status for that contest next week.
Browns CB Denzel Ward (calf) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants. He put in limited practices all week after missing the past 3 games. Ward is a low-level fantasy option, and the Sunday night kickoff makes it risky to wait on him. We'll update his status Sunday evening, though.
