The Titans placed RB Brian Hill on IR with an undisclosed injury. The timing of the move means that Hill is out for the season. That leaves Darrynton Evans as the clear #2 RB and handcuff to RB Derrick Henry.
The 49ers signed RB Brian Hill to the practice squad. It's only noteworthy because RBs Elijah Mitchell (knee, concussion) and Jeff Wilson (knee) are iffy for Sunday's game vs. the Bengals. If they're out for that one, JaMycal Hasty figures to serve as lead back, with Hill potentially the #2.
The Titans signed former Falcons RB Brian Hill to a 1-year deal. Hill, a 2017 5th-round pick, averaged 4.7 YPC last year on a career-high 100 attempts. He’ll battle Darrynton Evans and Jeremy McNichols for the #2 spot behind Derrick Henry. A Henry injury would almost certainly result in a timeshare, though.
The Falcons used a 5th-round pick on Wyoming RB Brian Hill. A workhorse over the past 2 seasons, Hill racked up 3,491 rushing yards with 28 scores. It took him 630 carries to get there, though — a mediocre (for a college back) 5.5 yards per carry. Hill has good size at 6’1, 219 pounds and registered a 50th percentile SPARQ score. But we didn’t see anything to get excited about on tape. He’ll sit behind Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman this year. Freeman is currently set to hit free agency next offseason.
