Texans, Joe Mixon Saga Ends In Release

The Texans released RB Joe Mixon, according to multiple reports. Mixon requested the move, and the team probably had no issue obliging considering how the last 12 months played out. Mixon suffered a foot injury away from the team last offseason and missed the entire 2025 campaign. The move saves Houston $8 million in cap space.

Ravens Go All-In, Land Maxx Crosby in Blockbuster Trade

The Baltimore Ravens are acquiring five-time Pro Bowl DE Maxx Crosby from the Raiders for 2026 and 2027 first-round picks. The deal becomes official once Crosby passes a physical at the start of the new league year on March 11. It’s the first time in Baltimore’s 31-year history that the team has traded a first-round pick for a veteran player. Crosby immediately boosts a Ravens' defense that fell to 24th in yards allowed (354.5) last season.

It's a much-needed boost to QB Josh Allen's weaponry -- and frees up opportunity for WRs Luther Burden and Rome Odunze and TE Colston Loveland in Chicago.

Update: The Bears are sending Moore and a 2026 fifth-round pick to Buffalo for a 2026 second-rounder.

It's a slightly surprising move considering the tender would have paid Tucker a reasonable $3.52 million on a one-year deal. The Cardinals will release QB Kyler Murray when the new league year starts on Wednesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. That's barring a trade happening before now and then -- which won't. Arizona owes Murray $36.8 million guaranteed in 2026, and another $19.5 million for 2017 would have triggered on March 15 if Murray was still on the roster. That's about $6 million less than the franchise-tag number for QBs -- but gives Jones the chance to negotiate a long-term deal with other teams. The Colts would have the chance to match any deal and retain Jones. Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, this is the first time the transition tag has been used on a QB since Jeff George in 1996.

        Mike Washington Reaches Rarefied Air

        1:51am UTC 3/1/26

Arkansas RB Mike Washington flaunted a rare combination of size and speed at the Combine. After tipping the scales at 223 pounds, he blazed a 4.33-second 40-yard dash. That earned Washington a 126.9 Speed Score, which lands in the 100th percentile at his position. That, of course, doesn't guarantee Washington success in the NFL. But Speed Score is one of the most predictive metrics we have for incoming RBs. And there's plenty to like on Washington's tape. Although he didn't truly break out until his fifth and final college season, Washington piled up 1,070 rushing yards on 6.4 yards per carry this past year. He ranked fifth among 27 of this year's top RB prospects in both yards after contact per attempt (3.86) and rate of runs to go for 15+ yards (18.0%). Washington also caught 28 balls last season. He could now in the mix to be the third RB off the board in the NFL Draft. And, depending on landing spot, Washington could be an early-second-round or late-first-round target in dynasty rookie drafts. He's also been a strong value in early best-ball drafts, although expect his price to rise after this Combine performance.

Jadarian Price Smaller & Slower Than Expected

        1:33am UTC 3/1/26

Notre Dame RB Jadarian Price measured 5'11 and 203 pounds at the Combine — seven pounds lighter than his listed college weight. That puts him in just the 18th percentile among Combine RBs since 1999. Price then ran a 4.49-second 40-yard dash. His 99.9 Speed Score, which accounts for weight and 40 time, lands in the 66th percentile. None of this is overly damaging, but it’s a bit underwhelming for the near-consensus No. 2 RB in this class. Price played behind Jeremiyah Love at Notre Dame and was lightly used, averaging just 8.3 carries and 0.4 catches per game over the past two seasons. There are still plenty of big plays on his tape: 19.2% of his career runs gained 15+ yards -- the second-highest rate among 27 of this year’s top RB prospects. But the measurables raise some concern that his production may have been fueled more by situation than individual talent. Price averaged a middling +0.8 yards per carry over expected this past season. He still looks like the No. 2 RB in the class, but the gap between Love and the rest of the group appears as wide as ever.

        George Pickens Officially Gets Tagged

        3:12am UTC 2/28/26

The Cowboys have placed the franchise tag on WR George Pickens. He and the Cowboys still have until July 15 to agree to a long-term deal. If they don't, Pickens would be set to make $27.3 million in 2026. Dallas hasn't seemed overly aggressive in locking up Pickens for the long haul -- and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said earlier this month that a tag-and-trade is a possibility. We'll continue to keep tabs on the situation. Our best guess is that Pickens plays out this season on the tag for the Cowboys.
